Mancation

Here are a few pics from a weekend trip with my friends to celebrate Johnny's 30 birthday. His wife, Ally wanted to send him on a trip with his buddies so she got the ball rolling and Johnny, Adam and LJ flew to Albuquerque for a little mancation. On Friday morning we drove the mustangs compliments of my father in law to the top of Sandia Mountain. The top elevation is over 10,000 ft.
LJ was missing because he was really sick the first day. But he recovered in time to enjoy the rest of the weekend. After we drove the Mustangs we packed up and drove up to the Cabin in Colorado. It really didn't take Johnny long to get comfortable and make himself at home. On saturday morning we went four wheeling, which was dirty but awesome.
We stopped along the trail and roasted some dogs for lunch. We rode again on the second day.
Then we did some base jumping from these rocks. We all got into base jumping when Walmart started selling those prepacked parachutes for $99. Then, when we went back to the cabin, we saw this rainbow from start to finish. It was a sign that our mancation was acceptable in the sight of God. On the last day, we all decided to float the river on inner tubes. It was windy and raining but it was the only time we could do it so we did our Navy Seal duty and went for it. I don't have any pictures but it basically looked like a pod of killer wales slowly making there way downstream. We beached ourselves a couple times in the shallows.
Overall it was an amazing weekend. We played, we laughed, we cried, we had Sound of Music sing along in the car ride home and we really did it up real big for Jawa's birthday. Thanks for coming down boys.

  1. Full rainbow!! Oh my gosh that is so intense!! I can't believe it!! I can't believe anyone would trust a pre-packed parachute from walmart. You should at least pretend they are from REI everyone's peace of mind.
