I love this picture, it warms my heart. It is one of my favorites of me and my dad. This picture really speaks for itself and the great love that I have for him. I wanted to do a little tribute to him in gratitude for his unspeakable sacrifice to make and fill my life with experiences that have been not only incredible but that have shaped me into who I am. They have taught me many lessons and allowed me to understand that the greatest joy comes when you sacrifice everything for others. My dad truly is one of a kind. I have never met anyone like him. He lives to give to others and has personified everyday of his life selflessness in every way possible. There simply are to many great things about Him and too many things he has done for me to ever document them all. Thank you dad for another super LJ STYDE. Thank you for always being the Father the Lord intended for you to be. Because of this my life has been blessed eternally. I love you.
This is me and Sarah and my dad in San Diego on the bay. This was one of my favorite vacations growing up. I loved going to the bay and flying our kites and going to the beach and Disney land. My dad sacrificed so much to always make these trips possible. My dad loved to take us places and he planned so many wonderful family trips that bring back the sweetest memories.
This is the bike trailer my dad got and put this beautiful decal on it. This trailer brings back so many incredible experiences! My dad is a dreamer and he dreams so big! He wanted to bike down the west coast from Washington to California so we did.. 4 times. The beauty I saw on this trip was breath taking and something I will never forget. We rode tandem most of the time and I loved biking right behind my dad. We have also done many 100 mile bike tours together. My brother named us team diesel because we both have really big calves and we like to power push on our red tandem bike. I have loved accomplishing such awsome things with my dad. It was biking with him were he gave me my nick name rocket stone. We were riding one day and going up a hill. I always stand up and pump as hard as I can to get us up the hill anyways this one day I pushed especially hard and our tire blew out. My dad said it was because I was pushing so hard and that it felt like a rocket was behind him pushing him up the hill. So the name Rocket came and Stone because I have built a firm foundation of my life in the Lord.
My dad would always kiss my nose because he said that his lips fit perfectly around it. He also would wake me every morning telling me how much He loved me and how beautiful I was. One morning I remember asking him if my bad morning breath bothered him. He told me never! And that he never noticed it. How nice of him.
I am on my dads lap in this picture. We would always go three wheeling all over and I loved it! My dad always got our family into really fun sporting activities. And still does! It is his love to buy things for all his family to enjoy them. And because of him I have been able to have some pretty unique and incredible experiences. He recently got some four wheelers and snow mobiles that I love riding with him.We are able to see some back country in Colorado which has been so beautiful.
My Dad has such a creative, fun imagination. He loves to come up with acronym's and have people guess what they are. And believe me he has an acronym for everything. It's really funny. So he came up with this one and had a fancy decal made to put on the van. Oh yes I have to mention he loves putting decals on cars. So as you can see the name is LJ STYDE. On the trip I saw this woman stop and read the decal out loud. She was like what is this?.. Lady Junket drop till you drop excursion... with a puzzled look on her face. It made me laugh. So when my dad gave me money, on the envelope he had an the acronym LR which I had to guess before I was given my envelop. I guessed it right away. It was Lady Rocket, which is one of the many nick names he has given me. I need to add one other hilarious and also admirable aspect of my father. He is the ultimate wheeler and dealer and will not pay full price for anything. He has his classics that he says when purchasing things. Like can we get the GP(good person) discount or the LC(loyal customer) discount and it's crazy how many times he actually gets it. So for this trip to Salt Lake he wanted to have us stay in the Marriott Hotel which the rooms are like 300 a night so obviously my dad was not going to pay for this but some how he was going to make this happen. So he has a Business up in Utah so he asked his boss up there Denny(the nicest guy ever) to go and make a friend at the hotel so we could get the friends and family discount. So Denny goes on his Mission to find his friend. He pulls up to the Hotel and finds a bell man named Lance. He proceeds to ask Lance about the friends and family discount and asks how he can get it. Lance kinda blows him off probably thinking who the heck is this guy! So to make this story short Denny goes back two more times. You must know that this is the hardest thing for Denny and he was literaly sweating bullets the entire time! One time Denny waits for Lance to come into work and once he spots Lance He approaches pleading, saying how all his boss wants to do is take all of his girls on a special trip. Third time Denny goes back again sweating bullets and asks... sweet Lance gives in and gets Denny the friends and family discount for 79 dollars a night. I laughted so hard when I heard this story because it rings so true to who my dad is. I can see my dad constantly calling Denny to see if he had got it done and pushing him to make sure he gets it done! We saw Lance and all the girls thanked him and gave him a nice tip.
