I am a Pioneer who will be trekking it up!

This is my very talented and sweet friend Jessica. She is the one who made my beautiful pioneer outfit that I love. She did such an incredible job and I must say she has amazing skills. Her skills far surpass just the really great sewing. I could fill up an entire page with them, but I will just say this, she is an amazing mother and is the best YW's Secretary a president could ever ever ask for. I was called by the stake to be over the activities that went on for the trek. This will be the first trek I have gone on, so I am very excited. Nathan is worried I can't ruff it for three days. I assured him I am fine, but I am a little worried about sleeping on the ground. I am hoping the trek will turn out great and that the Lord will make it a very great experience for the youth. I have been grateful for this calling because it has given me a greater understanding and deep love for the pioneers and for their remarkable sacrifices in establishing the foundation for our church today.
The side view. The bonnet is so pretty and will give me great coverage from the sun.
I loved the ruffles at the bottom of the skirt, and the pretty details on the apron.

  1. I have never seen a pioneer as hot as you in all those black and white pictures. Will you just promise me right now that you will get off the plane in Seattle wearing that outfit. Our month and a half of separation is symbolic of when the pioneer men left the women for the Mormon Battalion duty, so the outfit really would be fitting. Think about it.

  2. Also, I have only one beef with the outfit and that is the top. I don't think pioneer women wore pink fitted dress shirts from Express but I could be mistaken. It is really just a matter of authenticity.
